(I've lost count of how many times we've been there before then) In the Jumble Room they serve sustenance with a serious difference. This is a small jewel of a place with an atmosphere that is hard to beat and marvellous food. Both the lunch and the dinner menus change, and contain  fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, some traditional English, others distinctly exotic. The restaurant is owned and run by Chrissy and Andy Hill, who take as much care over their food as they do over their guests. When we first moved to Grasmere five years ago, going to eat at the Jumble Room always made us feel at home and happy. In all honesty, the way Chrissy and Andy treat their guests is second to none in our experience. And the food is so flavour-full, imaginative and cooked with such care, that it's always an mmmmmm-moment tucking into your first bite. What can I say – don't miss it. Worth a serious detour.
