And the principle seems to be the same: Decent food at very good prices. We went for lunch and I had a lunch special; soup of the day and choice of main course for £5 – asparagus soup and tagliatelle carbonara, which was good, although the pancetta was too thickly sliced and pretty hard to chew. Martin had eggs Benedict at £3.95 (poached with spinach and Hollandaise sauce) on a toasted muffin, which were perfectly cooked – but he would have preferred home made Hollandaise. Little Lukie had a couple of delicious, spiced pork sausages and hash browns for which we were charged £2.95. On the whole, the food at Tarantella was tasty, if not entirely home made, but with the prices charged, you can live with that. By Cecilia Campbell   Cancel
