Original review: June 25, 2009 for supper.
We don't normally write up restaurants outside Cumbria, but sometimes there are places you just have to promote. Like Moro (see separate review) in London. And the jewel we found in Cornwall on our beach holiday. We've stayed at the gorgeous Sennen Cove (just up from Lands End) before, but back then there was only a small café selling hotdogs and sandwiches. Well, as of 2004, there is an absolutely stunning restaurant, literally on the west facing beach. Inside you can have a really fine dinner, outside on the extensive porch there's a tapas and pizza menu, (tapas 3-7 pounds, pizzas 7-9), it's more low key, kids can run around and sandy clothes be worn. Fantastic! The food is simple, super fresh and imaginative. We went more than once, but on the first occasion I had a crab pizza which was to die for. All the pizzas, served both as lunch dishes and outdoor snacks, are really fresh with great toppings. Josh had a seafood salad which was also absolutely scrummy and so, so fresh. All this, combined with a glass of wine and a view of the setting sun is simply unbeatable. If you are anywhere in Cornwall, Beach is worth a trip! In 2010 we'll book for dinner one night.
