Original Review: January 3, 2012, for lunch.
The Watermill in Ings has won many awards for its selection of real ales, and for the past five years have run their own brewery on the premises.
This is a very popular pub, though it was, understandably, pretty quiet when we went for lunch on Tuesday after New Years.
The menu is extensive, as is the specials board, and food is served all day. Martin and I both had gammon and chips, served with a slice of pineapple, a fried egg, green beans and carrots. On the whole a satisfying meal, really good chips, the gammon overcooked in my opinion though. Josh had a venison casserole, which he enjoyed. With hardly a main course under ten pounds, it's pretty expensive though - but not unlike many south Lakeland pubs in this respect.
If real ale is your thing, I would definitely recommend the Watermill.
