After reading a rewiew about this new restaurant we decided to give it a try on Saturday 30th of June. We didnt book as we thought it being new we would not have a problem getting a table but with a stroke of luck we got the last one at around 8.15pm & we soon realised why as we looked at some of the meals coming from the kitchen. We where seated in the window of this great looking restaurant....it is always nice to eat at a place with crisp linen tablecloths & napkins. Our charming waiter offered us drinks & left us to look at the very interesting menu. Proptly our drinks arrived & our order was taken my partner opted for the Crofton Cheese & black grape salad with chefs smoked hummus & I decided to try the crab & mackerel salad with stem ginger & mint dressing followed by breast of duck with blueberry & passion fruit & beech smoked haddock. Warm bread was given to us & then our starters came...joy....they where a picture & a shame to tuck in. We both agreed they where superb & eagerly awaited our main courses whilst taking in the superb atmosphere. When they arrived we where not dissapointed as the duck was pink & my haddock was perfect, they both came with crisp vegetables & a fondant potato...the best I have tasted. After the delights of our main courses we where presented with the dessert menu & chatted to our waiter who was very pleasant. I was full but my partner opted for the Kendal Mint Cake Creme brulee...it was delicious with a crisp sugary top.
The whole evening at Wicked Windermere was fantastic & we will be visiting again very soon...next time we will book as it seems to be building a fantastic reputation. Well worth a visit...11 out of 10
