Golf isn't just a waste of a good walk.....

Well we are back now after our trip to bonny Scotland, we stayed at the fantastic old course hotel right on the golf course at St. Andrews. Our suite over looked the fairway onto the 18th green and it was nice to sit and watch all the golfers chipping and putting their way around the greens.

The restaurant lived up to it's 3 rosette status and the hotel leads the way in 5 red star standards, from the moment we arrived we where treated like royalty as was every other guest, we had a veritable feast of foie gras and pistachio terrine with fig chutney, turbot with puy lentils and balsamic, lamb rumps with wild mushrooms, lobster mousse with caviar, angus fillet beef with morels some of the finest Scottish cheeses, creme brulee to die for and far to much red wine and cognac.

It's detox for us now as all that fine food and wine plays havoc with your body, it's a good job i didn't have to pay for it as a second mortgage isn't on the agenda at the moment. Seriously though it was a great experience as 5 red star luxury isn't my normal way of life and I learned a hell of a lot about food,  standards and that way of life. - I might even take up golf now !!

Hi Nick,

Glad you enjoyed your time in Scotland. I play the odd round of golf, having taken it up to recover from a broken leg..... I have even been fortunate enough to have played at St. Andrews with some customers of mine in a previous life...

Catch up with you soon.
Martin
