Spreading the Local Foods Gospel Around the Country.....

This weekend i'm off to the Teesedale Food Festival at Bowes Museum,

It's great to be banging the drum of producers and suppliers of local foods from another area other than cumbria as it brings the message home that there are hundreds of local food heros around the districts of the UK,

I've got the added bonus that Deer"n"Dexter and the cumberland mustard people are attending the festival

so i can incorporate dishes with the foods of the north east and northumberland with the essence of cumbria as well,

I'm doing Rushyford wild boar loin with cumberland honey mustard,

Deer"n" Dexter venison fillet with cumberland raspberry mustard,

wild pigeon breasts with black pudding and pancetta,

sauteed chicken supremes with tuscan marinade,

to name but a few of the dishes I've created for the festival,

one thing I can say with all honesty and belief is that the suppliers from other regions of the uk share that passion and commitment that we see here in cumbria and the north west,

It's good for me as i can bring all this together in my demos and mix and match the regions together and all done with great success and above all else, the people who attend these festivals love it,

Catch me on BBC Radio Cumbria on monday 23rd as i create delicious dishes and tastes with all the olives, olive oils,cheeses and hand made vinegars that i brought back from the Greek Islands with me.
