Cumbria's microbrewing scene is continuing to grow. There is a big thirst for beers produced in the Lake District, and more of the beers that are normally only available on tap can now be found in bottles. We have 24 microbreweries and two cider makers with four other breweries reported to be in the pipeline.

Just some of the bottled beers on offer in the county.
Hawkshead and Coniston breweries also bottle their beers, and I can vouch for them both that they are excellent. Hawkshead has a trial brew pilsner on tap at its beer hall in Staveley. I tried some recently and it really is very good. If you want to find out more about any particular brewery just follow the links below.
Barngates Brewery
Beckstones Brewery
Bitter End Brewery, Cockermouth
Coniston Brewery
Cock Robin Cider
Cumbrian Legendary Ales (website not live yet)
Dent Brewery
Foxfield Brewery
Geltsdale Brewery
Great Gable Brewery, Wasdale
Hardknott Brewery
Hawkshead Brewery
Hesket Newmarket Brewery
Jennings Brewery, Cockermouth
Keswick Brewery
Loweswater Brewery
Tirril Brewery, Penrith
Solway Cider
Strands, Nether Wasdale
Watermill
Yates Brewery, Westnewton
One of the latest breweries to start producing is Strands at Nether Wasdale. They produce three beers including one called Angry Bee, this is a sweet beer made with honey. I havn't had a chance to taste it yet, but it sounds interesting for those who like less bitter beer! - Martin
