Kendal college has a great culinary team. If you need proof check out the images of the food they recently served at Storr's Hall below.

White onion soup and Cayenne straws

Smoked haddock and crab "Minestra"

Poached fillet of beef, braised oxtail, fondant and carrot puree

Lemon brulee, lemon tart, lemonade

Goats cheese plate
They are raising funds for a trip to Chicago and are hoping to visit the similarly named Kendall college. Thanks to the Westmorland Gazette, here is a cracking photo of the team.

The full team consists of Martin Frickel, Matt Campbell, Elaine Stokes, Ian Mitchell, Antony Amos, Andrew Posthlewaite, Laura Bertrem, Grace Walker, Claire Laughton, Peter Kennon, Mark Satterthwaite and Ben Wilkinson.
On Thursday the 6th of March they are holding an "Auction of promises" at Kendal College (one 'l therefore it's in Cumbria not Illinois...) The event starts at 7pm with canapes and wine on arrival, then the auction begins at 7:45. Tickets are available from Matt Campbell, Martin Frickel and other members of the team. There's going to be some great bargains on offer, it will be well worth going. - Martin

this is just fantastic,
I heard of this from Martin Frickell a couple of weeks ago at colege when he asked me for something for the auction of promises,
it took me a couple of hours to think of what i could do,
all beit after being the guest speaker at the lunch at the college, and still realling from our brilliant seafood lunch served and cooked by the students, which consisted of smoked haddock chowder, salmon fishcakes, fillets of bream, mussels and to finnish chocolate plate and lemon souffle,
It hit me ....
If they can serve and cook this emense standard of food, Well the least I can do is basicly all I can to help them,
So My auction of a promise was to go to the highest bidders home and cook a 4 course dinner with wine and the washing up for 4 people,
It will fill me with great pleasure to go to someones house an woo them with a fantastic meal, and the usual mixture of comedy and foody fun,
sadly I could'nt make it to the auction as I've some personal things to attend to ( my dad is well and getting better)
but i can't wait to hear how it went,
and hopefully the team will be well on they're way to chicago to show the USA just how it should be done,
Nick.....

The event was a fantastic success, with great canapes served at the start, around 70 people came to bid for the prizes and the night raised just under £4000. A great result for the fundraising team! - Martin
