A Bit like " Jamies 15 " But " Nicks 13 " Today is the first session of my new course at Kendal College. Over the next 5 weeks of Monday evenings I'm going to be working with 13 chefs to create a final day dinner for 50 of the Kendal Round table.
The thing is though, none of them are below 65 years of age and with me weighing in at 43 this has to go down as the oldest kitchen brigade in the world. "Let me know of any older brigades that you may know of" - I have been waiting with eager anticipation for the last couple of weeks for this to start.
I know we will do a good job and produce a fantastic menu for the dinner. Over the next 5 weeks we will create and produce the menu and on the final day it will be down to us to put it all together for the dinner.
A challenge for us all to overcome as I know we will and I'll get to make 13 new mates as well.
Watch this space,
Nick.... |

Good luck Nick, I'm sure with all those mature heads you will turn out something that the Round Table diners will be really pleased to eat. I'm looking forward to hearing more about what is going to be on offer.

"2 of them are borderline" maybe just under the 65 limit, but the first night went well, we made fresh bread and then wild mushroom soup, with good results all around,
but a very nice bunch of guys, and we all got on very well,

This week was round 2 in our production of the menu,
we made salmon and spring onion fishcakes with prawn and chive bisque for the fish course,
we've got a bit of a break now until the 28th when we will concentrate on the main course,
