fantastic food festivals and foodie events are just around the corner.
I kicked off my season this weekend at plumbgarths near kendal with the national trust garden bonanza
all associated with wild oceans who are striving to protect our oceans and the livestocks they contain,
I did a barbecue supplying tasters of pollock fillets in coconut milk, chilli and coriander,
and gurnard fillets in sweet chilli, garlic and lime,
all the people who tasted the goodies where very suprised that they tasted just as good if not better than the ever depleting cod and haddock and at around a 1/3 of the price it makes good sense as gurnards and pollock are'nt under threat and it may take some pressure off the cod and haddock stocks(hopefully)
this weekend on the 14th and 15th i'm at the food lovers festival at the county show ground doing a few demos and some judging of local foods and suppliers,
I can't wait as i love the food festivals and all who attend,
seeing the local producers and suppliers is like bumping into old friends and i'm praying for good weather for the festival and so i can top up my tan!
maybe see ya there,
NIck....
