Cumbria boasts many small independent food producers, committed to making the highest quality food using the finest ingredients. My gourmet tours combine gastronomic delights with stunning scenery - a feast for all the senses. Tours vary with the seasons, but typically may include seeing how local craftsmen produce traditional cheeses or butter; learning how organic wheat is ground into flour before being baked into bread and cakes; or tasting rich, hand made chocolates. You may even have the chance to try your hand at making something yourself.

A gourmet lunch is enjoyed at one of a number of acclaimed beacons of good eating. This may be private dining at a 16th century historic home with its own shooting rights and organic vegetable garden, or perhaps Muncaster Castle, set in grand surroundings. Or you could be a privileged lunch guest at one of the county's finests hotels. Some of these venues open specially for us.

Depending on the time of year there are seasonal treats; feeding new born lambs or watching the landing of shrimps on Cumbria's Solway Coast for example, or a visit to a farmers market. Whatever your foodie interest, my tours will have something special for every tastebud. So treat yourself, join me on a gourmet tour of this diverse and fascinating region and enjoy a really memorable day.
